Radiofrequency is electromagnetic radiation that oscillates simultaneously in the electric and magnetic field. Although it is a system of therapeutic use known in surgery for years -electro scalpel, coagulation, diathermy, etc...-, recent investigations have managed to shift its use to the field of aesthetics by creating a technology capable of selectively delivering radiofrequency energy in the deep dermis and in the subdermal layers while protecting the epidermis and thus being able to fight against flaccidity and cellulite.
Radiofrequency produces deep heating that affects the skin and subcutaneous fatty tissue. A warming that we could say goes from the inside out. This heating will favor:
- Lymphatic drainage , which will allow the reduction of liquids and toxins in which the adipocytes of the tissue affected by cellulite are embedded.
- An increase in the circulation of the area that will improve the metabolism of both the subcutaneous fatty tissue and the improvement of the appearance of the accompanying skin.
- The formation of new collagen, both in the skin and in the subcutaneous tissue, allowing all the tissue to acquire firmness thanks to the reorganization of the fibrous septa and overlying dermal thickening.
- And finally, after controlled thermal injury with tissue retraction, there is an inflammatory response that will be accompanied by migration of fibroblasts , which will further reinforce the collagen structure, resulting in rejuvenation of the treated area.
